Yesterday marked the 12 year anniversary of Phantasmaphile, and I tend to use this occasion as a time to take stock and give thanks. Though I've gone off in several witchly directions since October 2005 - and don't post on here nearly as often as I'd like to these days - this space remains the root of all of the other projects I've gotten to do, whether it's writing What Is A Witch, creating WitchEmoji, or co-organizing the Occult Humanities Conference at NYU. I'm so grateful to those of you have joined me on this journey, whether you're a long-time reader or a new traveler on the phantastic highway. Getting to meet so many of you, whether in person or in the e-aether, has been one of the most rewarding parts of keeping up this site. We all form a community of curious oddballs who are devoted to making the world more magical.
It's in that spirit that I'm thrilled to announce my latest venture: The Witch Wave podcast. It's a show where I'll be having conversations about magic, art, creativity, and all sorts of other witchery with today's leading visionaries. My first guest was the incredible Briana Luna of The Hoodwitch, and I loved our conversation about digital mysticism, beauty rituals, and the importance of honoring our ancestors. You can listen to the episode on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play or on the Witch Wave site itself. If you like it, I hope you'll subscribe to it and rate it - it would be a massive help, and I would deeply appreciate the support. This has been one of the most joyous projects I've ever worked on, and I'm so excited for the upcoming episodes. It hit #2 in the Spirituality category on iTunes and has gotten some great reviews since it launched last week, and I'm crossing my fingers/toes/eyelashes that it will continue to find a passionate audience, including you.
Many thanks for reading, for listening, for showing up, and shining bright. Wishing you a Happy Halloween, a Blessed Samhain, and a wondrous Season of the Witch. I'm honored to have you in my magic circle.
