Nino Japaridze "Seul en compagnie de La Lune (Alone with the Moon)" 2012
The Gallery of Surrealism has just announced their new folio of four signed and numbered etchings by Nino Japaridze, based upon the devilish Russian novel, The Master and Margarita. Each piece is more lavish and lovely than the last, though of course I'm partial to this prismatic, witchy one. Full info here:
It is with great pleasure that we announce a new publication, The Master and Margarita,
a limited edition portfolio of four hand signed and numbered etchings by Nino Japaridze.
This is our second etching project with this artist, following Japaridze's auspicious debut,
L'Eternel Retour, which premiered in 2010 at Paris' Palais de Tokyo to great acclaim.
Inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov's masterpiece novel, The Master and Margarita consists
of four signed and numbered etchings on Arches paper accompanied by one signed and
numbered colophon sheet all housed in a sumptuous purple fabric covered portfolio with
gold stamping and gold lace ribbon tie. The etchings are published in a limited edition of 25
with Arabic numerals printed in black and a deluxe edition of XXV with Roman numerals. Each impression in the deluxe edition has been elaborately hand painted by the artist.
