Elizabeth Marruffo "the death of the party: saving the universe" 2012
I just was alerted about Elizabeth Marruffo's recent show, "the death of the party" up at Turner Galleries in Perth. Though it just closed on the 12th, her contemplative dreamscapes are too special not to share. Her work is apparently about being about a Mexican ex-pat in Australia, and one definitely gets a sense of alienation and otherwordliness from it. I'm impressed by the sense of control she has, creating minature women, delicate rainbow ribbons, and angular webs amongst the looser cloudy canyons. Lovely.
(And thanks to Campbell White for the heads up.)
