Kirsten Deirup's work marries the stark, surrealist environment of a Tanguy with the lovely, heaped excess of a Heffernan. This is not to say it is derivative - quite the contrary: it is some of the most original and unusual work I've seen recently. There is a muted magic to it which hits me just so.
