Image magus Jesse Bransford will be speaking at Catland next Wednesday, and you won't want to miss it. He'll be sharing the magick and methodology that went into his epic Icelandic dream project, and offering other insights into his travels, both physical and inward:
Jesse Bransford, Recent Work: Dreams, Signs and the Paradox of Language
“Those songs I know, which nor sons of men
nor queen in a king's court knows;
the first is Help which will bring thee help
in all woes and in sorrow and strife.”
Artist Jesse Bransford’s recent work is an amalgam of several sets of magical visual languages. Born out of a six month project involving a collaborative dream journal and the folk magic of Iceland, the artist has forged an idiosyncratic language that joins the problematic notion of the art object to the equally problematic notion of the talisman.
