Rene Lynch "War of the Roses" 2011
I had the privilege of showing a piece by Rene Lynch in my first ever art show, Fata Morgana: The New Female Fantasists. I was captivated by her paintings of adolescent girls, sharing secrets and losing their innocence in the woods. Her latest body of work is even more sophisticated and lush than ever, which is a feat to pull off indeed. "Leda's Swan," her current show up now at hpgrp GALLERY NY is a sensual stew of mythological beings, ballerinas, giant flora, and forest beasts, all teeming within large, immersive canvases. It's up through March 3rd, so do make sure you see it.
