A very happy new year, dear Phantasmaphiles! Apologies for the posting drought - it has been a very frenetic holiday season for me thus far. More regular entries will resume posthaste. In the meantime, a list of phantasmaphilic things I'm looking very much forward to in 2007. In no particular order, they are:
- The Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns, and Mermaids exhibit at the Museum of Natural History
- Judith Schaechter's new monograph, Extra Virgin: The Stained Glass of Judith Schaechter
- The stateside release of Clinic's Visitations album
- Pan's Labyrinth (will be seeing it tonight)
- Takeshi Yamada's revolving Museum of World Wonders: Cabinet of Curiosities exhibit at the Coney Island branch of the Brooklyn Public Library
- New albums from Low, Animal Collective, Bjork, Tori Amos, Arcade Fire, Breeders, PJ Harvey, Kristin Hersh, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Wolf Parade, Pixies, Portishead (I'll believe it when I see it), Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, et al
- The movie version of His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass
...And much more which is currently escaping my mind. What am I missing?
I thought Smashing Pumpkins broke up... no?
