Currently feeling gobsmacked by Dolly Thompsett's paintings. Her pieces feel candied and vascular at once, this one in particular reminding me a bit of a certain inside-out scene in Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes. But this is so much, well, prettier. There's a majesty to Thompsett's overgrown, rosy worlds. Lucky Londoners can see her work in person alongside Julie Heffernan and Haruko Maeda's in the Magical Realism show up now through August 3rd at All Visual Arts.
(And thank you to Joanna Ebenstein for the heads up!)
