Altars and shrines are an obsession of mine, so Stephan Doitschinoff's work really rings my bell. Under both his given name, and his street moniker "Calma," he crafts elaborate art rituals and contemplative spaces which draw from Catholicism, the punk/skateboarding scene, and his own Brazilian roots. I can only imagine what it must be like to kneel in the room above, surrounded by books, prayer flags, and his brightly morbid paintings.
