I posted this painting three years ago on my birthday, but it seems fitting to repost it in light of the recent news.  Thinking of your birthday on mine, dear Dorothea.  Hoping my life is as filled with creative beauty as yours was.

Someone wished me a "Happy Solar Return," and I love the idea of a birthday being a returning: to oneself, to light, to our source of energy.  I'm feeling excited and energized by several projects I've got cooking, which I'll be announcing here soon.  And I am so grateful I've been able to share the last several trips around the sun with you all here.  Thank you for reading Phantasmaphile.

I want to wish a very happy birthday to art stars Judith Schaechter and Suzanne Gerber.  Only a few of us know what it is to have this peculiar and lovely birthdate.  And Happy Valentine's Day to my Valentine for Life, the darling and dashing Mr. Matthew Freeman.

I'll be celebrating my birthday this year via Observatory's Lunar-Themed 3rd Anniversary Fundraiser on Saturday.  Observatory has been such a gift in my own life (thank you, Joanna Ebenstein!), and I thank those of you who have visited it and supported its growth.  If you'd like to celebrate with me, information is here:
