Nick Bantock  "Ernst's Skeleton"

I am shocked and appalled to realize that I haven't yet posted about Nick Bantock.  I was first introduced to his work by an amazing art teacher I had when I was in junior high.  His famous Griffin & Sabine Trilogy are a set of books containing a mystical love story told through collages and letters that you can actually pull from their envelopes and read.  The experience is at once voyeuristic and incredibly inclusive.  Bantock has since released a follow-up trilogy called The Morning Star, as well as many other illustrated novels and books about his techniques.  I would love to take one of his workshops someday.  I can think of nothing better than sitting on a bohemian Canadian isle (or Spanish villa), and generating exotic, mixed media imagery with a true master of the form.  *Sigh*
