Barry X Ball's carved stone heads are grotesque and gorgeous. By selecting fine specimens of marble and Mexican onyx, Ball allows for the material's veining and pigmentation to communicate the idea that natural beauty is about embracing flaws, not resisting them. Disembodied, impaled or suspended in mid-air, these works arrest and awe.
I am totally awed. Those carved stones are amazing. Happy to have came upon them by google. ;D
