I finally got to see the work of one of my favorite living artists in person. Miriam Wosk has a marvelous show up here in NYC at the Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts. The show is through August 28th, so you have plenty of time to make a plan to stop by, which you really must do. Her giant, brilliantly crafted mixed media pieces are studies in vibrance and bounty. Like an Angelo Filomeno piece, one must see Wosk's work in person to catch their sparkle and texture, teeming as they are with metallic pigments, vintage wallpaper cuttings, crystals, and sequins. These are pieces to experience.
