Melora Kuhn "Consumation" 2005
The girls who populate Melora Kuhn's world are right out of a Balthus painting, with their liminal sexuality and older-than-their-years gaze. Kuhn's pieces are nods to salon portraiture, but with a decidedly Jungian bent, full as they are of dream symbols and mythic tropes.
