Ah Xian

Ah Xian  "China Series"  1997-1999

There is something about Ah Xian's porcelain heads which seems utterly hallowed.  They look like rococo death masks, or a parts of some sort of lavish sarcophagi.  I love how Xian counterpoints embellishment and serenity.
