I'm surprised I haven't yet posted about Lukas Kandl.  I was introduced to his work via the magnificent book, Metamorphosis, put out by the Beinart Collective.  Kandl's paintings have all of my favorite elements:  flawless rendering, surprising imagery, and fantastical thematics.  Love at first sight.
