Oh YES. The James Cohan Gallery has a glorious show up called "Cosmologies." It's a comprehensive multi-media survey about the idea of universality and our place in the cosmos. It spans the gamut from ancient mandalas to contemporary works done by such luminaries as Fred Tomaselli. It's a real treat to see so many interpretations about what it means to be human, from macrocosmic charts of time and constellations, to microcosmic chakra graphs. Definitely brings to mind the alchemical adage "As above, so below." It's rare for a gallery to curate works that they're not selling, so this is a chance to catch a museum-caliber show for free. It's up through February 10th.
