Kiki Smith "Untitled (Moth)" 1993
Kiki Smith is one of my all-time favorite artists working today. A master of many mediums, from print to sculpture, her pieces never fail to make me catch my breath. She explores themes such as the body, nature, womanhood, and fairytales, and creates work that appears deceptively simple. I had the good fortune of hearing her speak at a lecture series hosted by the MoMA a couple years back, and she was gratifyingly quirky and insightful.

Did anyone see Kiki Smith's work at the Pompidou? It was positioned with Christina Iglesis's Passage II and Bill Viola's 5 Angel's for a New Millenium. What do you think of the them "Re-enchantment" for these three works?

I love the Pompidou, though I haven't been there in years due to georgraphic constraints! Do you have links to any of these works? I'd love to see them.
