Dietrich Schuchardt "Lydia in the Garden" 2001
Last weekend at the ArtExpo here in New York, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Steve Lucas, owner of the esteemed Gallery of Surrealism. The gallery has an impressive collection of pieces from surrealist greats. They also represent contemporary surrealists, such as Dietrich Schuchardt, an artist whose work I had not been familiar with previously. His lush colors and meticulous details are extremely impressive - rivalled only by his expansive imagination.
